Hammond’s Pioneer Homes (now known as HammondCare) was established in 1932 by

Program details
INTERNATIONALLY QUALIFIED NURSES TO AUSTRALIAN REGISTERED
NURSES FAST-TRACKED PROGRAM – THE “PROGRAM”
- An exciting opportunity for Bachelor of Nursing qualified nurses who wish to study, work
and gain Australian registration as registered nurses.
- Sponsored visa initially for 1-2 years as a personal care worker and upon attainment of
Australian registration as a Registered Nurse, sponsorship and employment would
continue, as a Registered Nurse. An Employer Nomination Scheme (186) visa sponsorship
to work and live in Australian permanently will be sought from the employer, after 3 years
employment with the employer as a Registered Nurse, as part of the Program.
- Dependants can also be sponsored and have full working rights under the Program.
- Opportunity to attain Australian permanent residency. Ongoing employment after
attaining permanent residency.
- Nurse applicants must be no older than 45 years of age.
- Study for the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) National Council Licensure
Examination (NCLEX) and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) under Key 2
Learning College best-practice preparatory training. The NCLEX preparatory training is an
intensive training program delivered online in the nurse’s home country within the first 3
months from enrolment in the Program. The OSCE preparatory training will be undertaken
in Australia and will comprise both online learning using Key 2 Learning College’s bespoke
learning resources and a practical 2 day OSCE examination simulation at our Canberra’s
clinical lab facilities. The training is supported by an RN trainer and assessor.
- Undertake Professional Development RN training in aged care. The training is designed to
prepare nurses to work as registered nurses in an Australian aged care and health care
setting.
- Nurses must have an IELTS of no band less than 6.0 in the academic stream or equivalent
English test. Nurses must undertake to improve their English language proficiency over a
12 month period to meet the NMBA English proficiency Standards of IELTS Level 7.0 (or
equivalent test).
- Placement in metro, regional or remote locations across Australia.
- Driving licence is highly desirable.
- Covid-19 vaccination mandatory (vaccines approved by the Australian authorities).
- Nurses undertaking the Program must sign a statutory declaration that they will commit
to undertaking all the required preparatory training and undertake the NMBA
examinations to attain Australian registration as registered nurses (RN) within a 12 month
period from arrival in Australia.
The Internationally Qualified Nurses to Australian Registered Nurses Fast-Tracked Program provides
skill sets and support services that are essential to the success of this unique and exclusive program
and comprise as follows;

ELIGIBILITY
- Nurses must have Bachelor of Nursing qualification and a minimum of 4 years of work
experience post-graduation and be registered with a Nursing Council or Board in their home
country.
- Nurses must commit to undertake the designated NMBA NCLEX and OSCE preparatory
training and examinations within a 12 month period from arrival in Australia to attain
Australian registration.
- Nurses must have a minimum IELTS Level 6.0 (or equivalent test) average with no band lower
than IELTS 6.0. Nurses must commit to undertake any English language skills training to meet
the NMBA English language proficiency Standards of IELTS Level 7.0 (or equivalent test) within
a 12 month period from arrival in Australia to attain Australian registration.
- Nurses must be willing to work in metro, regional and/or rural areas of Australia to enhance
their employment prospects.
- Nurses must comply with all visa requirements.
- Nurses must cooperate with Key 2 Care Health Solutions personnel.
- Nurses must sign and adhere to all the requirements of the IQN to RN Fastrack Program
Candidate Agreement.
WHY IS THE NMBA NCLEX AND OSCE PREPARATORY TRAINING ESSENTIAL?
- The NCLEX theoretical examination is a demanding and challenging examination initially
developed to test the skills and knowledge of US graduate nurses before being accepted to
practice as registered nurses in the US. The failure rate for overseas nurses undertaking the
NCLEX examination can be high and requires a high degree of study and preparation before
undertaking this examination.
- The OSCE examination is a practical examination designed to test the nurse’s clinical skills and
knowledge, as well as an understanding of the Australian health care system. Nurses are
tested across a number of scenarios and adequate preparation is essential to pass this
examination.
- The NCLEX preparatory training and examination is intended to be undertaken prior to arrival
in Australia and withing the first 3 months from enrolment in the Program.
- The OSCE preparatory training and examination is intended to be undertaken within the first
6 to 9 months from arrival in Australia.
- A full outline of the training including learning resources will be provided to nurses as part of
the Program.
WORK OPPORTUNITIES
- Nurses have full working rights and are entitled to work full time under the provision of the
visa (38 hours a week).
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions will prepare a dossier of each nurse upon enrolment into the
Program and provide the dossier to our partnering employer organisations.
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions will facilitate interviews with employer organisations.
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions will provide ongoing support for nurses.
- Nurses can earn approximately between AUD22-AUD25 per hour and work full time (38 hours
per week) as personal carers. The hourly rate can increase with overtime and shift loadings.
- Nurses will be able to apply for positions as registered nurses upon attaining Australian
registration. An indicative entry level registered nurse salary in Australia is $76,981 per year
Visa
TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE VISA 482 – LABOUR AGREEMENT STREAM
- This visa is for skilled workers nominated by employers who have a Labour Agreement. It
allows nurses to live and work in Australia temporarily.
- Under the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (482) the nurses can stay in Australia up to 4
years. The duration and stay of the nurses will be determined by the length stipulated by
the employer. Nurses undertaking the IQN to RN Fastrack Program will be offered a
shorter visa (1-2 years) as personal carers, with a subsequent longer visa upon attaining
Australian registration as registered nurses, which will generally be for 3 years.
- Under the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (482) the nurses must be sponsored. The nurses
must abide by all the conditions of the visa and sponsorship requirements as outlined in the
Home Affairs website (https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visalisting/temporary-skill-shortage-482). The nurses can only work for the nominated
employer and can only work in the nominated occupation.
- Spouses can be sponsored under the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa and have full working
rights.
- Nurses must be up to 45 years of age.
- Nurses must have a minimum of 4 year’s work experience post-graduation.
- Nurses can only work for one employer during the duration of the visa.
EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME (SUBCLASS 186) VISA
- This visa lets skilled workers, who are nominated by an employer, live and work in Australia
permanently.
- Nurses will need to have attained Australian registration as a registered nurse and worked for
the employer for 3 years as a registered nurse for the employer to consider applying for an
employer nomination scheme (186) visa
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Under the IQN Program, Key 2 Care Health Solutions can only accept nurses that have a
minimum IELTS Level 6.0 across all bands or higher (No band lower than 6.0) – this is to ensure
they have adequate communication skills with the elderly residents and able to achieve the
required English proficiency to apply for Australian registration. Nurses must also have a
minimum of 4 years of work experience as registered nurses and be registered with a nursing
council or body in their home country.
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions and collaborating parties will not process any visas for spouses as
accommodation being offered is only for the nurses. Also, there are accommodation
shortages in Australia. Spouses might find it difficult and/or expensive to find
accommodation. Nurses could apply for a visa for their spouse once in Australia as a
subsequent entrant. However, the cost of the visa application, accommodation, etc, would be at the expense of the nurses. Application for spouses will only be processed after the nurses
have been in Australia for a minimum of 2 months.
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions requires that nurses wishing to bring spouses and family to
Australia advise of this decision prior to the commencement of the visa application for the
spouses. This decision also needs to be communicated to the employer.
- Dependents of a 482 visa recipient can work full time (38 hours) anywhere in Australia.

NOTE: Any cost associated with health insurance cover, air ticket, medical checks, airport taxes,
applicable local taxes/processing fees, personal expenses, will be borne by the nurses.
PAYMENT TERMS
Key 2 Care Health Solutions payment terms are as follows;

and Key2Care as part of the enrolment in the program.

Refund Policy
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions will refund AUD$4,500 in the event of the nurses visa being
declined. Key 2 Care Health Solutions will provide a refund to the Candidate within 7 days
upon receiving notification that the visa has been declined.
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions will refund 50% (AUD$ 9,250) of the cost of the program in the
event of;
- The nurse’s visa is granted and;
- The nurse elects not to proceed with the Program and;
- The nurse advises Key 2 Care Health Solutions of this decision in writing within 30 days of the visa being granted and;
- The nurse has paid the full payment of AUD $ 18,500
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions will provide a refund to the nurses within 21 days from notification
by the Nurses that elect not to proceed with the Program.
- Key 2 Care Health Solutions reserves the right to provide no refund after 30 days from the
nurses receiving a notification that the visa has been granted and the Nurses having elected
to proceed with the Program. For the avoidance of doubt the nurses are deemed to proceed
with the Program if the nurses have not provided any written communication to the contrary.
Program Timelines
The indicative timeline of the Program are as follows:
- NBMA NCLEX Preparatory Training and Examination – Study program 3-months, 2 days
per week plus self-study (virtual/online learning while being in home country).
- Temporary Skill Shortage Visa 482 preparation and lodgement – 1-month from receipt of
all required information from the nurse.
- Assessment and decision by Australian Department of Home Affairs – 1 month.
- NMBA OSCE Preparatory Training – Study program 6 months. 1 day per month trainer
support. 2 days exam simulation at Key 2 Learning College clinical lab facilities. OSCE
Preparatory Training program to be undertaken in Australia.
- NMBA OSCE Examination – subject to NMBA Adelaide Simulation Centre availability (in
Australia).
- The timelines are indicative only and might be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic or
other unforeseen factors.
NOTE: The first two steps can be undertaken concurrently (ie. Nurses can commence studies while applying for visa and awaiting Australian immigration assessment and decision).
